The National University System
The National University System offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that offers affordable coverage from which you can choose to best meet the diverse needs of you and your family.
As part of our benefits program, you also have the option to participate in the Wellness Program, which includes fun and social activities for you to participate in which to support your wellbeing.
Full-time regular staff and faculty working at least 32 hours per week are eligible to participate in the University’s benefit programs.
Some employees may be eligible to for certain benefits according to the Affordable Care Act.
Coverage for eligible dependents is also available in the same plans you choose for yourself. Eligible dependents include:
- Legal spouse (opposite or same sex)
- Registered domestic partner (same sex)
- Children up to age 26
- Children who are physically or mentally challenged, who became disabled before age 26, who live with you and who are primarily dependent upon you for support (appropriate documentation verifying your child’s eligibility will be required).
Enrolling for Coverage
You must enroll within 31 days of your date of hire or the date you become benefits eligible. If you do not complete enrollment during your eligibility period, the next opportunity to enroll will be:
- During the annual Open Enrollment period (held in May of each year)
- When you experience an IRS qualifying life event (QLE).
If you have a qualifying life event, you must complete enrollment within 31 days of the event in order to make permitted changes to your benefits coverage mid-year.
Online Benefits Open Enrollment
Enrolling for your benefits is easy and convenient. Your online access to complete benefits enrollment is available seven days a week by logging on to TBX through Single-Sign-On.
If you do not have access to Single-Sign-On, you can still access TBX at https://allstate.benselect.com. You will need your Employee ID and the last 4 digits of your social security number + last 2 digits of your birth year to login.
When Coverage Begins
Your elected benefits coverage will begin on the first of the second month, following your hire month, or month you become eligible for benefits.
Elections made during the Annual Open Enrollment period will be effective July 1 through June 30.
